One of our favorite visitors from New Jersey, this beautiful 37 year old female was looking for a “pick me up” after successfully completing her second pregnancy. Specifically, she wanted to replace the volume of her breasts that she enjoyed during her pregnancy, and she wanted more of a “perky” position of her breast and nipple relative to her body frame.
Upon examining this patient is was very obvious that she had a great breast shape, and that her overall volume was good, but just in the wrong place. Because of her breast shape, we were able to do a lift technique without any vertical, lollipop scars. We undertook what is called a “periareolar” lift where the only incision is made around the areola. This allowed us to reposition her nipple and breast mound, and place her breast implant simultaneously.
We used a high profile 425cc silicone cohesive gel implant to maximize her upper pole fullness. Results are shown at three months after surgery. Note how the breast implant shape and size complement the new nipple position, and the overall breast shape. The presence of the implant improves the existing breast aesthetic without overwhelming it.
The benefit of this approach is that breast scars are minimized. The type of lift procedure can be done with implant placement above or below the muscle. Recovery time is typically five to seven days. Nipple sensation is maintained, but some patients state that sensation can be diminished after this approach. This type of lift is one of our most commonly requested lift procedures.
