Ocean Drive’s Liquid Facelift

Not all injectors are created equal, and not all fillers provide the same result or duration.  At Ocean Drive Plastic Surgery, we firmly believe and support the concept of graceful aging without invasive surgery.  We have been at the forefront of injectable therapy since 1992.  Our practice was one of the first Botox® Aesthetic training centers in Florida, and we have invested heavily in maintaining our practice on the cutting edge of minimally invasive technology.  At the core of this investment lies one of our most popular procedures: the Ocean Drive Liquid Facelift, aka the ODLiFt.

While surgical facelifting continues to be in vogue, as it provides a remarkable pathway towards youthful rejuvenation of the face, not everyone wants a facelift, and many men and women wish to avoid surgery altogether.  In response to this obvious demand, the plastic surgery community has responded, and now offers an entire armamentarium of options to stay youthful without surgery.  From neuromodulators such as Botox® and Xeomin®, to dermal fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm, and Versa, to laser technology, to Ultherapy, our practice takes pride in offering a wide array of services to the people we are privileged to serve.

These individual technologies and techniques all provide safe, natural results when used individually.  But as with many things in life, they are more potent when combined.

Dr. Durkin has developed a proprietary technique for nonsurgical combination therapy that addresses the totality of the human face, culminating in superior results without the need for surgery, or protracted downtime.  He has combined his intrinsic artistic talent with his comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy with his remarkable experience with fillers and neuromodulators to develop the Ocean Drive Liquid Facelift®.

This technique combines neuromodulator therapy to the brow, lateral face, and jawline with multiple dermal filler platforms to create a comprehensive, natural benefit to the human face.  Our specific formulation provides appropriate volume as well as lift to the brow, midface/cheek, jawline, and neck.  It also offers long-term collagen induction via injections, combined with laser and sound therapy, which provides long-term anti-aging benefits to the facial skin.

This procedure is designed as a standalone procedure, and it is commonly combined with Ultherapy, Kybella, HALO, Broadband Light Therapy, fractional laser resurfacing, and full field laser resurfacing to maximize results.  Typical recovery for patients receiving the Ocean Drive Liquid Facelift® is 12-24 hours, but depending on the extent of correction, can be up to 1-2 days.  The procedure, including numbing, takes less than an hour.  Results are instantaneous, and last up to two years. Patients may experience transient bruising and swelling, but results are enjoyed instantaneously.

How Does the Ocean Drive Liquid Facelift Work?

The cornerstone of the Ocean Drive® Liquid Facelift (ODLiFt) is our understanding of facial anatomy, the aging process, and granular understanding of how each neuromdulator and dermal filler best suits the human face.  Patients who undergo this procedure do not just receive Botox® for relaxation of dynamic rhytids.  Instead, they receive a mixture of Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport® to maximize outcome.  Our injectors analyze each specific face, and create the ideal balance of lift and fill, while simultaneously treating your skin to maximize youthful collagen induction.  By pinpointing each aging concern, and pairing it with its ideal intervention, and harmonizing the effects for maintaining a natural aesthetic, we are able to provide the finest in nonsurgical therapy for the aging face.

Do I need any special testing before getting an ODLiFt?

Not at all.  No specific testing is required.  The only preclusion is if you are on anticoagulant therapy.  While patients on anticoagulants can receive and ODLiFt, the ideal scenario is to hold those medications for an appropriate period of time prior to injection.

How much downtime should I expect?

Most of our patients experience minimal bruising due to our Accuvein technology, but longer lasting bruising can occur.  Recovery from our laser platforms is limited to 2-3 days.   Ultherapy has next to zero downtime if it is used.

Does an ODLiFt address the face and neck?

This procedure is primarily designed for the face, but can be extended into the neck in certain cases.
